Initial Escape Plan

In creating this blog, I came in with some pretty strong feelings of the topics I would like to discuss on this blog. The topic is how to escape from the day to day drudgery of cubicle work.

You see, I currently work as an Engineer. I have always wanted to be an engineer since I was 10. I enjoy the challenge and still do; but the idea that my efforts amount to mainly benefiting the shareholders of my public company keeps me from sacrificing my life force for the purpose of furthering the company. When was the last time you tried your damn hardest at something? I mean so hard that you fall from exhaustion?

The last time I remember such an event is from programming at school non-stop through the night to finish a fire fighter game in assembly. The fact that it actually works in every way I tested it meant everything to me. You could say I was 'in the zone' for a good 30 hours straight and the end result of it working is the sweetest nectar you could taste: FULFILLMENT (I apologize as my strong emotions on this topic brings tears to my eyes as I am writing this).

Does office work bring you FULFILLMENT? I would say you can twist your thoughts and say that your job does bring you fulfillment. I.e. because it is interesting and you feel liked and satisfied at your job. My rebuttal to this is that this is pure bologna. I argue it's a -delusion-. A majority fraction of your efforts are being converted into cash and funneled into the owner/shareholder's pocket books. How can anyone be satisfied with such a share in profits?

The owner rightly so should receive most the profits because they endured the risks to make a functioning and profitable company. Against much adversity, the company has stayed around long enough to employ you and give you the security of a job with a fixed salary. If you are like the 99% of the people who are content or cannot help themselves out with being an office drone then drone on. However, if you have the ambition and resourcefulness to beat down the office cubicle wall with me, then I invite you to take this journey with me to build your own financial freedom.
